Our aim with PPD is to be the best we can be, bringing you dental articles and information from the best dental practitioners, coaches and providers of service, enabling you out there in practice, be you dentists, hygienists, therapists, nurses and administrators, to be the best you can be too.

Dental journal - Who is it for?

The 'target readership' of this dental journal is anyone in dental practice who aims to achieve excellence, and to keep striving even higher.

Before deciding to launch this dental journal, the publisher, Ken Finlayson, carried out extensive research in dental practice to find out what people wanted. The responses came back overwhelmingly in favour of a high calibre, broad coverage dental title, both in print and online, which was practical, relevant and user-friendly. That is what we are aiming to deliver.

Dental articles from world renowned dental professionals

Dentists we have spoken to say that they want a dental journal the includes articles from dental experts how things really are: beautiful cases made to look easy are great - and we will have plenty of those - but what is really educational is finding out how those dental experts handle situations that don't go entirely to plan.

Our troubleshooting series will feature scenarios where things may have gone wrong, and our writers will give their advice as to how to deal with the situation, and ideally how to avoid it happening again.

Our panel of dental experts will also be on hand to answer your questions, however obscure, and in our column, 'I couldn't do without…' respected dental practitioners reveal what they depend upon to do their job properly. In 'Tips from the top' we bring you the tricks of the trade from some top people, and a quick read through our '10 reasons' and '5 ways' series will, we hope, give you ideas for your practice that you can put into action straight away.
