360 CERVICAL MATRICES
Triodent

360 Cervical Matrices are the perfect companion for any clinician doing Class V restorations or abfraction lesions, particularly if these extend sub-gingivaly where it is harder to get tissue and material control. They are small, partly flexible contoured formers which are held firmly in place while the material (generally composite or glass-ionomer) is cured and then the matrix is removed. Due to the nature of the material, this will not stick to the restorative material. The resultant effect is a better shaped, smoother restoration, which requires less final contouring and trimming, also in some cases less polishing due to the very smooth nature of the inner surface of the matrices.

The new 360 Cervical Matrices turn on two axes, making them manoeuvrable so dentists can find the perfect application angle for any Class V restoration - even an upper second molar. The matrix achieves this with a rotatable handle and three grip positions for easy access.

The versatile system is able to reach every tooth with ease and provides an excellent seal on the gingival margin. Each matrix is clear for easy curing and there are three sizes available, each designated by a different colour.

CITANEST
Dentsply

With patient care at the forefront of any dentist’s mind, it’s reassuring to find a brand you can trust. Dentsply has a proud history of research and development-based innovation that has provided the dental profession with innovative brands that include ProTaper Universal, Sani-Tip, and Spectrum. Alongside these market-leading brands, Dentsply also offers Citanest 3% with Octapressin, a local anaesthetic available in 2.2ml cartridges in both self-aspirating and standard form.

Citanest is an adrenaline-free anaesthetic that is compatible with most patient medications where many plain and adrenaline containing solutions are often not. Citanest contains prilocaine, and is 40% less toxic than lidocaine, yet still provides the depth and duration demanded by routine dental procedures.

Citanest is also the only local anaesthetic that uses Felypressin as a vasoconstrictor to maintain anaesthetic in the desired area, and is latex-free for further reassurance.

X-TRA BASE
Voco

X-tra base is the new flowable composite, designed especially for the bulk filling technique. This flowable, self-levelling composite enables up to 4mm thick increments to be laid, which can then be light-cured especially quickly; and this in just one step and without time-consuming layering. A 4mm increment of X-tra base in the shade Universal, for example, requires only 10 seconds of light-curing, and thereby only half of the time required for comparable products from other manufacturers. After the insertion and polymerisation of X-tra base, the stable restoration base requires only an occlusal covering layer with a methacrylate-based universal or posterior tooth composite. This enables an equally simple, efficient and safe restorative treatment in the posterior tooth area.

X-tra base is suitable for lining Class I and II cavities, as well as for the first layer of cavity lining in Class I and II cavities. X-tra base is characterised by high compressive strength (350 MPa) and flexural strength (133 MPa). Due to a particularly high filler content for this material class of 75% by weight and the special resin matrix, X-tra base displays only very low shrinkage and distinctly reduced shrinkage stress. X-tra base is available both in the non-run, non-drip NDT syringe, and in convenient flow caps with flexible metal cannula.
